KD7UOSINGLE-OP HIGHI thought Friday night was pretty poor. Then Saturday night came around and it was HORRIBLE. Just no propagation. By 10pm it was just me and two other locals calling endless CQs with no results. Let's hope 2024 goes better!
KD8TJBSINGLE-OP LOWDecided to participate, but had to build an antenna just for 160....wouldn't have done that if not for the contest this was fun
KD8TNFSINGLE-OP HIGH73
KD9VNISINGLE-OP LOWUsed end few random wire with 500ft of wire in the tree. I was getting very tired by the end of the night and forgot to press enter on some of the contacts so i am sorry if the times are way off.
KE1LIMULTI-OPLots of fun.
KE8SNOSINGLE-OP LOW9:1 unun, 17ft off ground, 135ft of wire
KG8CWASSISTED HIGH2.5 hours of op time.
KH6AQMULTI-OPDave and Rob set up a portable station at a cliff 30 feet above the Pacific Ocean. The 1/4 wavelength sloping ground plane performed well and ambient RF noise was almost nonexistent. Our first topband SSB contest.
KK4BZASSISTED LOWHad fun, thanks. Radio - IC-746, Antenna - 134ft OCF dipole wire in trees at 10m height, Tuner - LDG AT-200Pro II. Due to limitations of the internal tuner in the radio and the external LDG tuner, could only transmit 20-25 watts.
KS7TSINGLE-OP LOWThe condx for this contest were in a word - putrid somehow managed to work out of my call area but it was a struggle.
KV2XSINGLE-OP LOWIce on my antennas prevented many QSOs.
KV4ZYSINGLE-OP LOWCasual operating just for fun.
KW8NSINGLE-OP HIGHImproved beverages so was able to work some weaker stations as a result. Unusual cndx Saturday eve with dipole better at further distances.
LA8OKASINGLE-OP LOWFun with just a halfwave dipole.
LY2NKSINGLE-OP HIGHtnx for qso 73
M0MCVSINGLE-OP HIGHJust a part-time S&P log using an R6000 vertical, but good to submit a log.
N2GXJSINGLE-OP LOWfirst time in 160M. Better than expected!
N2USMSINGLE-OP LOWFIRST TIME CQ 160 CONTEST
N3IQASSISTED HIGHRough going during very part-time effort. We did not adjust the antenna arrays to work above about 1880...a mistake. Station performed well.
N4PSESINGLE-OP HIGHNeed a bigger amp to play in this one~ thanks for all the callers. Jim
N8YELSINGLE-OP LOWWorking on a minimialist 160 Dipole - Propagation was awful, still had a good time! Thanks to all that managed to pull me out of their noise floor!
ND8DXSINGLE-OP HIGHMissing the great runs into Europe of years ago. Was plaqued by an existing RFI issue and sadly was greeted with a new RFI problem, on the second night, rendering several Beverages almost useless at times, so a BIG TU for those who hung in there and gave
NP2XASSISTED HIGHMany top 10 stations don't have very good receive systems. Many EU stations were S8 to S-9 and could not copy my kW reasonable signal. They also don't listen long enough between CQs to switch RX antennas, which means they probably don't have any.
NV3CSINGLE-OP LOWThanks You
NY1VSINGLE-OP LOWReally high noise level both days of the contest, made it challenging
OH1XXASSISTED LOWDate 26.02.23 at 2125Z heard LY4A pirate call station jamming to LY9A on 1.920 MHz. And that jammer was came from east direction, Russia assumedly. (Have that 8-el directional Rx-ant) Right LY4A were at same time on lower 1.8 Mhz, were worked him

S55XASSISTED LOWOnly 7 hours in contest. 100w from Yaesu FTDX3000 to inv V single side dipole (38m wire), about 7m above ground. Regardless to equipmemt and operating time score is not bad at all :) 160m SSB is still one of my favourite contest.
